Silvi Saxena is a Licensed Social Worker (LSW), Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP), and a Certified Oncology Social Worker (OSW-C) working out of Philadelphia, PA. Working with children, adults, couples, families, and groups, she facilitates counseling related to physical illness, mental health issues, grief and loss, complex trauma, couples issues, and life transitions with a trauma-focused lens. She serves as the Co-chair of the Pain, Palliative Care and End-of-Life special interest group at the Association for Oncology Social Workers and is a member of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization as well as the Network for Social Work Management. Silvi is passionate about bringing quality medical and mental health care to all while bridging gaps in access to medical care, therapy, and ongoing treatment needs, especially to those who are most vulnerable in the healthcare system. She has a special interest and commitment to healthcare-related employee wellness and supporting providers so they can provide the best care for their patients. Before and throughout the pandemic, she worked with individual physicians to support healthcare workers experiencing burnout and compassion fatigue.

Silvi specializes in grief, PTSD, anxiety, and depression. She also has experience in many other areas of mental healthcare. Individual children and adult, couples and group counseling for anxiety and depression, life transitions, relationship issues, and mood swings, including seasonal affective disorder Counseling for individuals and families at end of life, with chronic and terminal illness, cancer and pain issues.

Additional experience in counseling for individuals, couples, and families, group counseling for grief and bereavement, including COVID-19 related loss, individual, couple, and family counseling for PTSD for veterans, survivors, and other trauma-related to personal injury or traumatic events.  Actively supports culturally sensitive counseling for adults including interethnic relationships, interfaith families, and LGBTQ+ issues.

Counseling with modalities including: Attachment Therapy, Somatic Therapy, Narrative Therapy, CBT, EFT for Couples, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Structural Family Therapy, Play Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy and Trauma-Informed Therapy.
